The Hazards of Blog Writing…

As I sit down to write this, Grayson is behind me playing with his toys like a good boy (no touching the computer Graybe).  I hear some grunting noises and he is reaching deep in his Brobee bucket for toys near the bottom.  Thank goodness for our swiveling chair…I swiveled around faster than you can say “baby in the bucket!”  His feet were flying toward the sky, but no damage done since I pulled him out just in time.  (Graybe, no hammering the computer please.)

Our summer has started off nice and we’ve made a trip to the lake and had another picnic in the park.  Here are some photos of our recent happenings (and more are on snapfish via the link on the right).  Enjoy!  :)

Hypercolor – making a comeback

Anyone that lived through the 80’s probably has fond memories of the greatest innovation in clothing since the cotton gin – hypercolor.

Now hypercolor is making a comeback, but in the form of a onesie! A British man, named Chris Ebejer, spent a million bucks to come up with Babyglow. The cool thing about this product is that it only changes when the babies temperature goes above 98.6°F (or 37°C).

I am sure it is not as fool proof as sticking a thermometer where the sun don’t shine, but what a handy invention to have when you’re worried about your little one running a temperature!

The Babyglow onesies go on sale in October and I am interested to see what the feedback is from parents who have tried it out.

Say Cheese!

Grayson is just the cutest!  He’s becoming quite the little walker these days and I think will be running circles around me in a few weeks time.

This morning he took a break from reading his books to give me big smile while I was checking my e-mail.  He likes seeing himself on the computer!

The Sounds of Summer

Last night the Manchee family headed up to Frisco Commons Park (which is fabulous by the way) for a picnic and some free music.  As soon as the band started up Grayson started groovin’!  He loved the music and loved to applaud the end of every song.  It was a beautiful night and the weather was just right.  The band played a little bit of everything (including Transylvania 6-5000 – awesome flick).  Another fantastic Frisco night!  More pictures of our fun night out are in the photo link column.

Mr. Tiger must have been hungry for our grapes too. We arent sure he got a hold of one though!

Frisco Fun at the Library Too!

This morning Grayson and I headed up to the Frisco Library for story time.  If you wondered what all the kids do during summer break, they go to the library!  It was packed, but we got ourselves a ticket for the 11am story hour (well, 20 minutes).  I think Grayson had a good time and spent most of the time trying to figure out what was going on and why these babies were so loud!  He clapped along to only some of the songs, but had a leg up on most babies when it came time to do our “more” sign in the song (which he promptly looked up at me for more grapes).  He did become a little sad when the rubber ducks and Beebo, the signing bear, had to say goodbye.  All in all, it was a great time and I think we’ll be back next week to fight the summer crowd for our spot on the carpet!

Summer is here!

We’ve beeing keeping ourselves busy over the last few weeks!  We spent a week visiting the Austin Ranch in Dallas (Georgia, that is) and had a blast.  We played a little softball, poker and Phase 10.  The most exciting moment however was when my little brother became a husband!  Wow, can you believe it?  We are all so proud of Zach and are so glad to welcome Christina to the family.  She’s been around long enough to know what she’s getting herself into!!

The Happy Couple

The Happy Couple

We got back to Texas just in time to enjoy the sunshine!  We unpacked and Grayson and I hit the pool!  This past Saturday we enjoyed a few hours of family time at the neighborhood pool for the “Pool Opening Fiesta!”.  We were lucky enough to have Emily join us too, which Grayson loved!

I’ve added links to both our Trip to Georgia and the Pool Fiesta under the Photos links to the right.  Looks like our summer has started off right!
